I utilized an acrylic base, oil paint layered in, crayons, ballpoint pen, and paint pens on canvas. The napkin attached to the bottom right corner is something I got from a flight. It says, “Where do you wanna go?” 
 
The painting is inspired by the story of Van Gogh’s severed ear. It is an expression of the madness I feel when I attempt to bring an artistic idea to fruition, and a reflection of my own inner demons that arise out of external societal pressures and expectations.
